What the WCC costs in total
- Exam: $380, exam and processing fee together.
- Course: paid to the provider you choose, unless a WOCNCB or ABWM credential covers the education route; course prices are set by each provider.
- Re-exams: $380 each, and up to 4 sittings fit inside the window, so a run of fails adds up quickly.
- Fees you can avoid: the no-show and change-of-setting charges in the table.
- Recertification later: $380, more if the credential lapses first.
From application to test day
- Check your license and pick one education and one experience route (who qualifies).
- Finish the course if you need one, and note its completion date: the testing window starts there.
- Apply to NAWCO with proof of license, education and experience, and pay the fee.
- Wait for the eligibility notice, then schedule with Prometric.
- Sit the exam, and any retakes, within the window (2 years / 4 attempts).
Test center, remote or paper
The handbook offers three settings for the same exam: a Prometric test center, a live remote sitting through Prometric, or a paper session tied to a live class. Settle on one before you book, because switching after the eligibility notice carries an administrative fee (see the table).
When the WCC testing window starts
The window closes after 2 years or 4 attempts, whichever comes first. If a course was part of your eligibility, it counts from course completion, so a course finished long before you apply leaves less time to test and, if needed, retest. If a WOCNCB or ABWM credential replaced the course, it counts from your first attempt.
Moving or missing a Prometric appointment
Changes are free with plenty of notice. Closer to the date Prometric charges its own change fee, and a no-show costs the rescheduling fee in the table, so call Prometric as soon as a date stops working.

WCC cost and booking
Can the application fee be refunded?
Partly. If you are ruled ineligible, the exam fee is returned and the processing fee kept; once you are found eligible, nothing is refunded.
Is there a remote sitting through Prometric?
Yes. Prometric runs live remote sittings alongside its test centers, and paper sessions are held for people attending live classes.
Who do I pay, NAWCO or Prometric?
NAWCO, with the application. Prometric only schedules the sitting, and its own change fees are paid to Prometric.
